UA Tech Park Voted Best Workplace

Awarded Most Innovative and Best Culture in the Workplace

The University of Arizona (UA) Tech Park won Tucson’s Most Innovative Workplace and the Best Workplace Culture based on votes from the Arizona Daily Star Reader’s Choice Awards.

The Arizona Daily Star organizes the Readers’ Choice awards annually to recognize the “best of” all Tucson businesses and organizations by surveying readership from around the region. There were nearly 1,000 winners in 340 different award categories. A complete list of winners will be released from Arizona Daily Star on September 16.

The UA Tech Park is one of the largest employment centers in the region hosting 52 companies and organizations that employ 5,870 skilled workers from 15 different industries.  The UA Tech Park and its resident companies have an annual economic impact of $2.0 billion on the state. The bi-annual economic impact report also reflects that the Tech Park is a center for high wage jobs. The average wage of a worker at a UA Tech Park tenant is $74,028, which is significantly more than the Pima County average of $47,327.  In 2017, park companies paid $465.3 million in direct wages to their employees.

The UA Tech Park at Rita Road is a dynamic, interactive community where innovators and business leaders meet, where emerging companies and technology giants work side by side.  Employees from every company at the Tech Park, which are termed Tech Cats, connect with each other establishing a broader sense of community.  The Tech Cats come together during the workday to network, sharing business ideas and challenges and also to unwind through several of the onsite amenities including fitness classes, pop-up parties, and Homecoming at the Tech Park.
