Tech Cats Middle School Robotics Team
Tech Parks Arizona is proud to sponsor a newly-formed middle school robotics team, encouraging students to overcome challenges and to use teamwork to create a competition-worthy mobile & mechanical robot. The robot, named Tech Cat, is a term used to describe all of the people who call the UA Tech Park home. This includes over 40 companies and Vail Academy & High School, who is hosting the team's workshops. This robotics team allows students the opportunity to hone their STEM skills as well as their soft skills, preparing the students for the workforce. Lead by former SARSEF member Mary Fosdick and VAHS high school teacher Donna Misciagna, this team is set for success.
Students on this FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) division team meet on Fridays and Saturdays to plan, design, and bring their ideas to life - these workshops are essential to the creation and testing of the robot. This is the perfect opportunity for middle school students to learn about STEM through communication, leadership skills, and time-management. If you are interested in either supporting the team financially or becoming a mentor for these students, contact Mary Fosdick at desertwren@cox.net.
