Testimonials
“The students visit to our Salt River Project Corporate office was a SUCCESS. The students were well prepared to discuss their projects. They asked very thoughtful questions and had a great dialogue with our engineers! It was such a pleasure to have them visit us! We hope the students took away knowledge from their visit to Salt River Project that they can apply in their future!!”
It was a delight to host these teams - Ileen from Salt River Project
"My students had a great time visiting Cleveland Electric and enjoyed their presentation. It gave the students great information. We really appreciated the company giving us thermocouples to measure the motor temperature to help with proper gearing. Phoenix Analysis and Design Technologies was fun and the students enjoyed the metal printing. During Career Day, we visited Arizona State University and ran into several of our former students. We also connected with an old colleague who now works on the eco car program and mini Baja. Students really got a lot from Career Day and are excited about their career possibilities." - Dan Zavaleta, Desert Vista High School
“Our daughter unexpectedly ended up taking an engineering class her sophomore year. It has been a very positive experience for her as she continues to learn, grow and gain confidence in her engineering skills. We spent our fall break touring universities like Purdue and Rose-Hulman and she has enrolled in a week-long engineering camp at Purdue this summer. These events were never on the horizon until her involvement with Racing the Sun which has opened up new possibilities. The Racing the Sun project inspired her from the start and made her feel capable of contributing since it’s a non-robotics option and she isn’t a programmer. Obviously, engineering has made a big impact on our daughter, and we are incredibly proud of her and thankful for Racing the Sun and Mr. Zavaleta for opening those doors of opportunity. I hope your volunteers and sponsors know they are truly making a difference." - C. L. Mehling
