Helping Arizona Companies Go Global

Export-Import Bank of the United States Shares Export Resources with Tech Parks Arizona

The UA Tech Park recently welcomed Sandra Donzella, Deputy Managing Director for the Western Region of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), for a discussion on the resources and opportunities available to businesses seeking to expand into global markets.

During her visit, Donzella highlighted EXIM’s mission to support U.S. companies by providing financing solutions that help businesses compete internationally, grow exports, and create American jobs. As the official export credit agency of the United States, EXIM works with small, medium, and large companies across industries to reduce the risks associated with international trade and help businesses access the capital needed to pursue growth opportunities.

Donzella discussed how EXIM’s financing and risk-management solutions support companies at every stage of their export journey, from businesses exploring their first international opportunities to experienced exporters expanding into new global markets. Available resources include trade credit insurance, loan guarantees, working capital support, supply chain financing, and buyer financing programs designed to help U.S. businesses fulfill export orders and enter new markets with greater confidence.

Particular opportunities exist for companies operating in advanced manufacturing and emerging technology sectors, including semiconductor, biotechnology, energy, water technology, satellite, quantum computing, and critical minerals industries. EXIM also collaborates with local partners, lenders, and economic development organizations to connect businesses with the expertise and resources needed to succeed internationally.

Serving Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and much of California, Donzella emphasized that exporting can be a powerful growth strategy for businesses looking to remain competitive while contributing to the broader goal of strengthening U.S. manufacturing and economic development. Her visit provided valuable insights for Southern Arizona companies interested in exploring global opportunities and leveraging federal export assistance programs.

Whether taking the first step toward exporting or expanding into new global markets, businesses can access a range of EXIM programs designed to support international growth.
