Pima County established this overarching board to comply with the requirements established by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the receipt of federal funding; and the development of plans and policy.

“Peter Loya is a dedicated professional and member of our community. He has already been involved for several months with the Workforce Investment Board, serving as a community member of our Planning Committee. I have been impressed by his dedication and passion to enriching Pima County through workforce development initiatives. His professional focus is a natural fit for the Workforce Investment Board and the Executive Committee, and I could not be more enthusiastic or excited about his appointment. I am looking forward to working closely with Peter in the months and days to come – I am confident he will be an invaluable asset and team member as we continue to address workforce and career challenges being faced by our Pima County community, both now and in the future,” shared Mark P. Vitale, Chairmen of the Pima County Workforce Investment Board.
