Arizona-based FinTech Nominated for Two Startup Awards

Clear Core, an Arizona-founded and based financial technology company was nominated for two state-level awards, recognizing innovation and exceptional startups in 2020.

The first award that Clear Core is in consideration for is the Tucson Metro Chamber’s Copper Cactus Tech Parks Arizona Start Up of the Year. The criteria for consideration of this award is that the startup will demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, perseverance, and innovation among other criteria, according to Tucson Metro Chamber’s website. The award ceremony is currently planned for October.

“We founded a startup during the most adverse headwinds imaginable,” said Clear Core founder Buck Strasser, “and yet, we’ve demonstrated viability and fulfilling a market need as we’re signing two customers right now.”

He explained that Clear Core’s technology of automatically cleaning data allows credit unions and community banks can make informed, data-driven decisions was the right technology at the right time. Many community financial institutions are seeking out technology that makes them more competitive and gives them an increased ability to better service their membership despite an economic downturn. Clear Core’s fast delivery and exceptional value make it attractive and approachable for community financial institutions of all sizes.

Clear Core is also being considered for Governor’s Celebration of Innovation’s Innovator of the Year- Startup Award. The Arizona Technology Council hosts this annual ceremony and currently has it scheduled for November. The ceremony honors technology leaders, innovators, and academics are for their contributions to the Arizona economy and innovation. 

“Arizona quickly became a technology hub and working both in Silicon Valley and here - I understand why. It’s about access to talent, low regulatory burden, and a supportive ecosystem, all of which Arizona has,” said Ray K. Ragan, Clear Core co-founder.

Based on last year’s awards, Clear Core will compete against about a half dozen other startups for the Copper Cactus Award. For the Governor’s Celebration of Innovation award, Clear Core will face about twice that number.

“Being nominated for two awards really shows that if you just show up every day and work hard, people notice,” Strasser added.
