As we mark 30 years of fostering innovation, partnerships, and lasting impact, we capped off this milestone year by hosting the After5 Holiday Tech Mixer in collaboration with the Arizona Technology Council. This festive gathering brought together UA Tech Park tenants, the University of Arizona Center for Innovation startups and tech professionals to celebrate a remarkable year and look forward to an exciting future. With engaging conversations and holiday cheer, the mixer was the perfect conclusion to a year filled with achievements and growth.
Highlights From 2024:
Award Recognition: We were honored as the Ed Denison Business Leader of the Year at the 2024 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards, presented by the Arizona Technology Council and Arizona Commerce Authority. This award recognizes our leadership in advancing university-based economic development.
Workforce Housing: In August, we unveiled plans for approximately 415 new housing units and a daycare facility at the UA Tech Park off Rita Road. This development supports the growing needs of our thriving innovation community.
IBM Lease Renewal: In October, IBM extended its lease at the UA Tech Park for another 15 years. This long-term commitment underscores the company’s confidence in our region’s potential for economic growth and technological innovation.
Tenant Expansions: Construction of Applied Energetics' Battle Lab for advanced laser system testing is underway. Steward Observatory expanded operations with a new building to test and prepare mirrors for the Giant Magellan Telescope. Eurofins CellTx announced enhanced microbiology capabilities as part of their global bioscience leadership.
New Tenants: This year, we proudly welcomed Micro-Hybrid Electronics, Diamond Wealth Management, Immersion Labs, Deployed Services and iCRx to our campus.
Here’s to an extraordinary year of innovation, growth and success! Thank you for your continuous support and for celebrating with us.

In 2012, the Julian Wash Greenway was developed as part of The Loop, a visionary project resulting from a collaborative effort between UA Tech Park, the City of Tucson and Pima County. The Julian Wash Greenway features a three-mile, 65-acre linear park that runs north of the Solar Zone at the UA Tech Park, complete with a multi-use path, exercise stations and interpretive nodes, offering a perfect way to connect innovation with nature. Fast-forward to 2021: The Loop, which includes the Julian Wash Greenway, was named the #1 recreational bike trail in the U.S. by USA Today. With Tucson also being recognized as a gold-level bike-friendly city, it's no wonder cyclists from around the world flock here to explore these exceptional paths.
