Big Moves Happening at the UA Tech Park

Tech Parks Arizona has officially relocated into the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) headquarters at the UA Tech Park at Rita Road, aligning both units under one roof. This relocation strengthens collaboration, streamlines operations and reinforces the unified mission that drives our organization: advancing innovation, supporting industry partnerships and fueling university-based economic development.

By co-locating the team, Tech Parks Arizona and UACI can more seamlessly support companies at every stage from startup to tech giant - while operating as one integrated organization. The move marks an exciting step forward as we continue to cultivate a thriving innovation community for Southern Arizona and beyond.

Southern Arizona CCIM Forecast Event  

Tech Parks Arizona was proud to attend the 34th Annual Southern Arizona CCIM Forecast, where 400+ industry leaders shared valuable insights across the multifamily, industrial, retail and office sectors. The event provided actionable takeaways for 2026 planning, along with great opportunities to reconnect and build new relationships with the commercial real estate community. For a twist of fun, the Tech Parks' booth rolled out the mini putting green that sparked conversations about innovation and future development.

 

Taiwan Company Enters U.S. Market Via Tucson

Taiwanese manufacturer serving the semiconductor industry is entering the U.S. market via Tucson. Jiann Sheng Machinery & Electrical Co. (JSEDM) will join the UACI. The company specializes in manufacturing wire cut and diamond wire saw technologies used in industries such as optics, aerospace, semiconductors, defense and precision manufacturing. Beginning in March, the company will join UACI's virtual program and is looking to start onsite operations at the UA Tech Park by the end of the year.

Carol Stewart Appointed to the Tucson Airport Authority Board

Tech Parks Arizona's leader Carol Stewart has been elected to the Tucson Airport Authority Board of Directors. Her leadership has positioned Tech Parks Arizona as a powerhouse for innovation and now she brings that same vision to one of Southern Arizona's most vital economic engines. As Carol declared, "Airports are powerful engines of opportunity". The Tucson Airport Authority drives more than 42,000 jobs and generates $10.9 billion in total economic impact.

Eastside Tucson Police Department Annex

The new Tucson Police Department (TPD) Eastside Annex officially opened adjacent to the UA Tech Park off Kolb Road, marking an important addition to public safety infrastructure in the region. Tech Parks Arizona was honored to join TPD, City of Tucson, and community leaders at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility, which enhances TPD operations as part of the Tucson Delivers Safer City Program.

Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce held their February breakfast meeting at the UA Tech Park. Community leaders gathered for an engaging discussion on the RTANext plan, including insights on Prop 418 & 419 and the future of regional transportation in Southern Arizona. SARSEF Summer STEM Camps invite students entering 4th grade through exiting 8th grade to dive into hands-on science, technology, engineering and math experiences hosted at locations across Tucson, including the UA Tech Park at Rita Road. Through dynamic themes and partnerships with community experts, campers engage in interactive exploration that sparks curiosity, builds critical thinking skills and brings STEM learning to life.

Accountant, Tech Parks Arizona

Samantha plays a key role in Tech Parks Arizona's finance and business operations team, supporting accounting functions, financial analysis and business systems management. She works closely with the Director of Finance and HR to ensure accuracy, efficiency and reliability across processes that keep the Park thriving. Fun Fact: Before crunching numbers, Samantha spent over a decade working in veterinary medicine!
