The Refinery
Collaboration starts
At The Refinery
The Refinery is the first vertical development at the UA Tech Park at The Bridges, serving as a gateway for industry-university collaboration in the heart of Tucson. This four-story, 120,000-square-foot office building is purpose-built to accelerate innovation by connecting private enterprise with the University of Arizona’s world-class research, talent, and resources.
We invite forward-thinking businesses to bring their vision to life—surrounded by a collaborative community and backed by unmatched university-driven support.
Where Tech Meets Talent
The building’s name – The Refinery – speaks to its role as a place where sharp minds and bold ideas are refined into cutting-edge technologies and real-world solutions. Designed as a multi-tenant facility, it offers an ideal environment for small to mid-sized technology-driven companies looking to co-locate with University of Arizona units and tap directly into a dynamic ecosystem of innovation and commercialization.

Built for
Bold thinkers
The 120,000-square-foot building was developed by The Boyer Company—one of the largest full-service real estate development firms in the Western United States—in close collaboration with Tech Parks Arizona. Half of the building is dedicated to University of Arizona units focused on advancing innovation, accelerating commercialization, and strengthening public-private partnerships. Building tenants include:
Raytheon
Building on its decades-long partnership with the University of Arizona, Raytheon has expanded into The Refinery at the UA Tech Park at The Bridges, leasing approximately 14,000 square feet of office space. This strategic move enhances collaboration with university researchers and provides proximity to engineering facilities, fostering the development of next-generation technologies.
Tech Launch Arizona
Tech Launch Arizona is the University of Arizona’s commercialization arm, dedicated to transforming university research into market-ready technologies. By facilitating patents, licensing, and startup creation, TLA bridges the gap between innovation and industry, maximizing the societal and economic impact of University of Arizona discoveries.
UA Applied Research Corporation
UA-ARC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with the University of Arizona. It delivers superior technical, analytic, and innovative products, services, and solutions to national security challenges from government and industry, extending the brand and impact of the University of Arizona.
UA Research, Innovation and Impact
The Office for Research, Innovation and Impact supports the world-class research enterprise at the University of Arizona, which is ranked among the top 20 public universities nationwide with more than $1 billion in research activity. RII enables faculty success through support for research centers, institutes, museums, and core facilities, and by securing strategic external partnerships.
UA Online, Distance and Continuing Education
UArizona Online offers students the opportunity to earn the same degree as on-campus students, taught by the same faculty and with the same curriculum, entirely online. In 2025, it was ranked among the top 10 online bachelor’s programs by U.S. News & World Report.
