Progress at The Refinery

Great progress is happening at The Refinery at UA Tech Park at The Bridges. This will be a place for invention development and product refinement located just minutes away from the University of Arizona. The entrepreneurial culture on campus has seen rapid momentum, and the network of resources available is expanding to meet the growing demand. The entire continuum will be housed under one roof here with support from the University of Arizona, Office of Research, Innovation & Impact Tech Launch Arizona, and the University of Arizona Center for Innovation. 

 

FBI Event

Earlier this month, the FBI Cyber Program led an in person business workshop here at the UA Tech Park. The FBI shared insight on how small and mid-sized businesses can reduce their risk for cybercrime. The FBI provided a number of resources to assess potential risk and what action to take if cybercrime attacks occur. 



 

Peter Loya Joins City of Tucson Commission

Peter Loya Director of Community and Government Relations for Tech Parks Arizona, has been appointed to the City of Tucson’s Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) Issues which acts as the official advisory body on GLBT issues. Loya will serve on the Commission providing expertise and guidance regarding inclusivity issues. 

 

Tenant Spotlight: Stackhouse

Stackhouse, a University of Arizona Center for Innovation startup located at the UA Tech Park, is revolutionizing the real estate business and aims to change how people own and finance a home. Stackhouse builds urban residential towers engineered to lift mobile, container homes in and out, giving homeowners the freedom to go where life takes them. With a solid prototype house developed, the UA Tech Park was a natural choice to debut Stackhouse before launching its development in Colorado. 

 

UA Tech Park Celebrates Pride

The UA Tech Park was honored to celebrate Pride month in collaboration with the American Heart Association with the event Hearts with Pride. The UA Tech Park supports inclusivity and healthy communities for everyone while raising greater awareness about issues of health equity that impact LGBTQ people.

 

People of the Park: Ken Marcus

Ken Marcus, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for Tech Parks Arizona has devoted 22 years to the organization. He has been instrumental in the success of the Parks. There is not a job too big or too small for Ken. You will often find him leading tours and sharing his expertise with the many visitors of the Park.
