Seasoned Tech Park Team Amounts to 135 Years

There are 135 years of direct experience collectively amongst the world-class Tech Parks Arizona team. This dedicated team provides the full spectrum of support, allowing companies, big and small, to focus on their businesses. Each member of the team brings a unique skill set and deep ecosystem knowledge to the organization. Every day is different and the Tech Parks Arizona team members bring their A-game to not only meet but excel at providing solutions for the unique demands presented each day. There is a great deal of pride in what we do and thrive from delivering the highest of service standards. 

 

IASP North American Division President Board Appointment

Carol Stewart was appointed the North American Division President for the board of International Network of Science Research Parks (IASP). The global network of science parks and innovation hubs is comprised of 350 member organizations from 76 countries. Carol Stewart was unanimously approved by the IASP members and was a natural fit with over two decades of experience with research parks and business incubation.  

 

The Refinery Advances Towards Completion

The Refinery, the first building at the UA Tech Park at The Bridges, is almost done! The building’s core and shell have been completed. The Refinery is months away from opening. This site will soon be home to a dynamic community of technology companies and University of Arizona organizations. It is exciting to see this innovation hub come to fruition.   

 

I-Squared Awards

Tech Launch Arizona presented five awards for innovation leadership and impact at its 8th Annual I-Squared Expo & Awards. A big congratulations to all the inventors, entrepreneurs, and leaders dedicated to commercializing UArizona inventions. A special shout out to Eric Smith for being honored as the Ecosystem Impact Award winner as well as Sahand Sabet with Revolute Robotics for being recognized as Student Inventor of the Year.

 

Cats in the Capitol

Tech Park leaders Lindsay Welch and Peter Loya are attending The University of Arizona D.C. office grand opening with a series of events showcasing the university's expertise and influence. The University of Arizona Washington, D.C. Center for Outreach & Collaboration was established to inform and convene leading experts from around the world and extend the impact of UArizona research and scholarship.

 

Tech Triangle Talks

The Tech Triangle Talks is a tri-national initiative that connects startups and emerging companies from Canada, France, and Arizona. Together, this trio shares resources, insight, and is building an international network. The theme for this month's Tech Talks focused on startups in the clean-tech field and highlighted a number of innovative businesses.  

 

Applied Energetics featured in Tech Connect

Applied Energetics, a tenant headquartered at the park, is continually innovating the development of high-performance lasers and state-of-the-art optical systems. Applied Energetics has an ongoing relationship with both the researchers and resources from the University of Arizona and provides real-world experience for a number of students and grad students.  

 

Greater Vail Chamber of Commerce Breakfast

The Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly breakfast at the UA Tech Park earlier this month. Colonel Richard Bushong, an established veteran, shared his history. Dr. Patrick Gbele, founder of US Air Tech, a startup housed at the UA Center for Innovation also presented his business. This is part of the ongoing program where startups are spotlighted in the community. US Air Tech shared how he is on a mission to connect the globe through his innovative satellite technology.  

 

People of the Park: Arizona Macias

Meet Arizona - she manages FitZona, our corporate fitness center. In addition to being an athlete herself, she has a degree in health sciences, eight health-related certifications, and 16 years of coaching experience.
