UACI Director Anita Bell Joins BIOSA Board

Tech Parks Arizona and the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) are proud to announce that UACI Director, Anita Bell, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bio Industry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIOSA).

 

With over two decades of experience in business incubation, Anita Bell has been a pivotal figure in fostering innovation and commercialization within the bioscience sector. Her leadership was instrumental in the successful launch of the UACI at Oro Valley incubator, a hub dedicated to nurturing bioscience startups and driving economic growth in the region.

 

“We are thrilled to welcome Anita Bell to the BIOSA Board,” shared Patrick Marcus, Treasurer, BIOSA. “Her extensive experience and proven track record in business incubation will be invaluable as we continue to support and grow the bioscience industry in Southern Arizona.”

 

Anita Bell’s appointment to the BIOSA Board underscores her dedication to supporting science and technology-based startups in Southern Arizona and beyond. Bell has extensive experience supporting bio and life science startups in Southern Arizona, with over a third of startups in UACI’s program in this industry. Bell has directly assisted over 300 early-stage startups with potential for high growth opportunities. Her collaborative spirit has helped shape a regional network that benefits startups.

 

“I am honored to join the BIOSA Board of Directors,” expressed Bell. “I am looking forward to contributing to the organization’s mission of promoting bioscience innovation and playing a role in shaping the region into a thriving center for life sciences research and discovery. I’m especially passionate about helping translate those innovations into real-world impact that improves the health and well-being of people in our region and beyond.”

 

BIOSA is a key driving force behind a biotech business and research environment that is rapidly expanding in Southern Arizona. The Bioindustry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIOSA) is a non-profit trade group that supports the creation, operation, and expansion of life science enterprises and the commercialization of university research institute-based technologies in the region.
