Neighborhood Outreach
We work closely and collaboratively with the neighborhoods that surround our research parks. Our UA Tech Park team works closely with the Rita Ranch Neighborhood Association and the Greater Vail Community. The Bridges outreach team works closely with the diverse and historic neighborhoods that surround the Park – Las Vistas, Pueblo Gardens, South Park, and Western Hills II – as well as with the Boys and Girls Club that serves that community.
American Red Cross
The UA Tech Park supports the American Red Cross by holding regular blood drives. In addition, the American Red Cross provides first aid and CPR training on-site as well as disaster preparedness workshops for families, and a variety of services.
Vail School District
Tech Parks Arizona has a longstanding partnership with the Vail School District, the district in which the UA Tech Park is located. The Park provided the location for the district’s first charter high school. Since that time, the district has built new facilities and launched its innovative K-12 program, Vail Academy and High School, located at the Park.
Tech Parks Arizona has worked with the district to create opportunities for students to learn from engineers, scientists, and other professionals who work on-site. The Tech Park also sponsors the school’s Robotics Club by providing space for students to build their robots.
Sunnyside School District
The Sunnyside School District is a neighbor of the Tech Park and is one of the most economically challenged school districts in the region. The Tech Park has created a program for Sunnyside Career and Technology Education students to participate in internships on-site with participating companies. Students spend the fall semester in a series of “soft-skill” workshops preparing them for their internship experience.
YMCA of Southern Arizona
Tech Parks Arizona, Pima County, and the YMCA are joining forces to develop a unique community complex. Located at the entrance to the UA Tech Park, the future complex will consist of a 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art regional YMCA and proposed new 15,000 sq. ft. full-service public library. The YMCA Board of Directors is fully committed to making the facility a reality.
The Y is partnering with the UA Tech Park to bring opportunities to employees to be active. There are a number of activities at the Tech Park inclduing: Boot Camp, Zumba®, Yoga Wednesdays, and Health & Well-Being Workshops.
