Tech Parks Arizona Expands Global Collaboration

Tech Parks Arizona joined the Arizona Commerce Authority's delegation of over 30 business, academic, and community leaders on a trade mission to Taiwan. The mission included meetings with Taiwan-based companies, a forum with over 120 attendees, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster technology and workforce collaboration. The delegation toured three specialized science parks and met with academic and research partners to enhance bilateral investment and global competitiveness. University of Arizona Professor Krishna Muralidharan, professor of materials science and engineering, planetary sciences, and a professor at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, presented how the university drives advancements in semiconductors, microelectronics, quantum technologies, and photonic devices.

Testing Technology 

Cutting-edge technology is advancing at the UA Tech Park. The University of Arizona Center for Innovation startup, US Air Tech, is testing SATCOM technology that aims to revolutionize communications. Their system facilitates seamless communication between satellites and antennas in the stratosphere, enhancing cellular data and internet transmission. The UA Tech Park is supporting US Air Tech in its efforts to transform global connectivity.

Celebrating Hispanic

Heritage Month

The UA Tech Park recently celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an event that featured food and a focus on community. Employees gathered to recognize the traditions and contributions of Hispanic heritage, fostering connections with colleagues in a spirit of unity and appreciation. The event emphasized the park's commitment to diversity and inclusion, creating a unifying experience for all participants.

Welcome Event for the New PCC Chancellor 

Tech Parks Arizona and the Arizona Technology Council hosted a welcome reception for Dr. Jeffrey P. Nasse, Chancellor of Pima Community College, at The Refinery in UA Tech Park at The Bridges. The event provided a forum for Dr. Nasse to meet the community and discuss his vision for fostering a market-driven curriculum, empowering the community, and creating pathways between education and industry.

This year marks a significant milestone as the University of Arizona Steward Observatory celebrates five years at the UA Tech Park. Over the past five years, the observatory has made remarkable strides in advancing electrical-optical research and development. Steward is a critical partner in constructing the Giant Magellan Telescope, a next-generation optical observatory that will be one of the largest in the world, designed to explore the cosmos with unprecedented clarity. Steward Observatory’s ongoing success at UA Tech Park exemplifies the powerful synergy between research and industry that defines our community. 30 Years of Shaping Moments

In 2003, Tech Parks Arizona established the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI), a science and technology business incubator network headquartered at the UA Tech Park. UACI provides resources to accelerate startups and scale business operations. UACI has long served Arizona’s vibrant community of innovators and has experienced remarkable growth over the past few years, attracting an increasing number of clients and supporting 60 startups engaged in the program at any given time.

Since its inception, UACI has demonstrated its pivotal role in shaping the tech startup landscape and fueling the Arizona economy. UACI has supported 300 startups and over 1,000 entrepreneurs with the people, programs, and facilities needed to turn big ideas into market-ready solutions. Through its structured 28-point roadmap, UACI guides entrepreneurs through critical stages of development.
