Strengthening U.S.-Mexico Connections

The Arizona Technology Council’s CEO Network, including Tech Parks Arizona CEO Carol Stewart, traveled to Nogales, Sonora for a day of cross-border engagement. The group was warmly welcomed by U.S. Consul General Michelle Ward, gaining valuable insights at the U.S. Consulate before touring Belden Inc. to see how innovation in manufacturing is strengthening supply chains and talent across borders. The visit also celebrated the inaugural Electrical Program cohort at Santa Cruz County Provisional Community College District, a milestone made possible through South32’s support. Special thanks to Joshua Rubin of Javid LLC for helping coordinate the successful trip, which highlighted how collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico drives regional growth, trade, and innovation.

Nogales plays a pivotal role in advancing binational partnerships, making it an ideal location to experience firsthand the impact of manufacturing on regional economies. By connecting business leaders across borders, the CEO Network is building new avenues for trade, talent exchange, and shared innovation. The tour also underscored the importance of aligning industry and education to create workforce pathways that address critical skills needs. This visit reaffirmed the region’s strength as a hub for cross-border collaboration and economic opportunity.
