Tech Parks Arizona creates interactive ground, which generates, attracts and supports technology companies and talent in alignment with the goals of the University of Arizona.

REhnu, a Tech Park tenant and University of Arizona faculty startup, successfully installed the first of five demonstration modules at the Solar Zone. REhnu is commercializing new solar energy technology developed at the University of Arizona by Dr. Roger Angel, a world leader in giant telescope design and manufacturing. In this technology, solar energy is concentrated by mirrors and converted into electricity with very high efficiency using small multi-junction solar cells.

Tunable Laser Technology 

The University of Arizona has licensed a new tunable laser technology invented in the College of Optical Sciences to startup TPhotonics, Inc. The technology allows for devices that can produce a beam and tweak its wavelength on-the-fly.

President Fox

Tech Parks Arizona and other organizations participated in discussions with former Mexican President Vincente Fox Quesada to develop an  accelerator program in Tucson with Mexican companies. This pilot program is a collaboration of regional organizations including the City of Tucson and Startup Tucson among others. As a partner in this program, Tech Parks Arizona and Global Advantage provides business development services to participating Mexican companies.

Ascensus, the nations largest independent retirement and college savings services provider, announced that it is opening a new office at the UA Tech Park in Arizona. The operation is expected to open by mid-2017.

As a result of ties with Israel and its Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we recently welcomed a delegation to Tech Parks Arizona.  Israels new Consul General to Los Angeles, Mr. Sam Grundwerg, and its Consul for Political Affairs, Mr. Yaki Lopez, visited the Park to learn about the Global Advantage program, tour the Park and testing and evaluation facilities, and meet with Global Advantage partners.

MLK March

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, hundreds of people marched from the UA Tech Park at The Bridges to Reid Park to honor the life of the civil rights leader. Participants gathered on MLK, Jr. Way between Kino Parkway and Park Avenue and walked more than two miles to the Reid Park celebration.

Student Workshop

The Tech Park hosted a BESST (Building Experiential Skilled Student Talent) workshop for about 20 high school students. The workshop covered tips for College Preparation and Financial Aid. Presentations were made by the University of Arizona, Pima Community College and Regional College Access Center.

Tech Parks Arizona proudly unveiled the artwork of Dr. Henry Koffler, University of Arizona President Emeritus. "Inner Landscapes" by Dr. Koffler is part of the UA Tech Park's program, "Art in the Park" which includes various exhibits by local artists.

Staff Profile

Andrew Hom is a MIS major at Eller College and is interning with Tech Parks Arizona. Andrew is conducting market research in the area of cyber security. Andrews grandfather graduated from the University of Arizona in 1937 and he is the 16th wildcat in his family.
