Tech Parks Arizona creates interactive ground, which generates, attracts and supports technology companies and talent in alignment with the goals of the University of Arizona.

Tech Parks Arizona recently led a business mission to Israel. This business outreach trip was part of Global Advantage, a business development program designed to attract fast growth technology companies to the Arizona-Sonora Region. The delegation from Tech Parks Arizona, representing the Global Advantage Soft Landing Program, met with thirty-four Israeli small to mid-size technology companies. The delegation also presented two seminars in Israel, on the North American Market Opportunities for companies in advanced energy and intelligent transportation/smart vehicles sectors.  Four companies have already expressed an interest in joining the Global Advantage program.  During the second week of the business outreach mission, the Tech Parks Arizona delegation was joined by representatives from the University of Arizona (UA) and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM).  UA and UNAM met with Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Israel and representatives from each nation signed a joint agreement. Through the framework of the trilateral cooperation, emphasis will be placed on encouraging innovation, developing joint projects, cooperation between technology transfer organization of the academic institutions, joint development of industrial relations and development of links between the tech parks and high-tech initiatives of the universities.

UA Startup SinfoníaRx Acquired by Health Care Tech Company

UA Startup Sinfonía has been acquired by Tabula Rasa HealthCare (NASDAQ: TRHC), provider of individualized, data-driven technology solution. Spun out of the College of Pharmacy in 2013, SinfoníaRx pioneered modern medication therapy management (MTM) services.

Racing the Sun

Arizona Public Media showcased how high school students from across the state have designed, built and raced solar powered go-karts in a competition sponsored by the University of Arizona's Tech Parks Arizona. Racing the Sun took place in late April at the Musselman Honda track south of Tucson where more than 100 students from 12 schools put their problem-solving skills to the test.

Meeting with Surrounding Neighborhoods

Community leaders and area homeowners met at the UA Tech Park September 12 for a bi-annual UA Tech Park at Rita Road update. The director of R&D for Dilas Diode Laser presented on the current laser industry and the manufacturing work Dilas does. Tech Parks Arizona gave an update on the recent business outreach trip to Israel and future development plans of the Village at the Tech Park.

Arizona-Mexico Commission Board of Directors

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey reappointed Bruce Wright to the Arizona-México Commission (AMC) Board of Directors. Wright has stepped into the role joining the bi-national leaders and is building upon the established momentum of this bi-national organization. Wright has served on the AMC board for over 10 years and has been very active in the economic development committee.

Lilli Newman is a student at the University of Arizona interning at Tech Parks Arizona. She is an honors student studying Business Economics at the Eller College of Management. Lilli is working on a smart cities project at Tech Parks Arizona which incorporates her interest of sustainability issues with her education in business administration.
