Tech Parks Arizona creates interactive ground, which generates, attracts and supports technology companies and talent in alignment with the goals of the University of Arizona.

Tech Parks Arizona is active in promoting STEM education and workforce development opportunities to build the employee base for technology companies in the region. Local UA Alumni-Owned Company Awarded $100,000 USDA-SBIR Grant

University of Arizona (UA) alumni entrepreneurs Dr. Ricardo Hernandez and John Jackson of Grafted Growers, LLC have been awarded a $100,000 Phase 1 USDA-SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) grant. With the award, they are working in collaboration with various UA departments as well as team members from Tech Launch Arizona and utilizing specialized facilities at the Arizona Center for Innovation. Together, this multi-disciplinary team will commercialize novel crop-production strategies.


The Arizona Center for Innovation (AzCI) is inviting qualified, Arizona-based technology companies to apply for the AzCI IGNITE Grant program. Four grants for up to $2,500 each will be competitively awarded to ventures who are pursuing the commercialization of their innovations and growing their small businesses.

Center for Innovation Mentors Startups

AzCI was recently included in the Star 200 special section of the Arizona Daily Star.  The story highlights AzCI's offerings and how it broadened its focus last year to make its resources available to companies at all stages - from early-stage startups to emerging companies.  The story also includes the view points of a couple successful startups.

Art in the Park

A new exhibit called Light Painters by Sunnyside High School students is on display at the Park. In this photography exhibit the paint brush is a camera and pigment is the light. The photographs cover art that crosses the 19th and 20th century and each was made with a philosophy, design and reflection using 21st century materials to discuss contemporary points of view.

Building 9070 "Meet Your Neighbor" Luncheon

To show appreciation for the hard work of its employees and encourage building interaction, Tech Parks Arizona hosted a "meet your neighbor" luncheon for Building 9070. There was music, food and fun for all!

Tech Parks Team Profile

The Finance and Operations team manages the day-to-day operations that keep the Tech Park operating at the highest standards. The team not only oversees all the financials, facilities, new construction, development and on-going maintenance, but also seeks out innovative ways to conserve energy through 'best practices' in running a complex university research park. The team includes: Patrick Murphy, Director of Planning, Facilities and Construction; Ken Marcus, Director of UA Tech Park / CFO; Craig Kleine, Information Technology Support Analyst, Senior; Bernadette Franco, Accounting Supervisor / Human Resources Coordinator; Kat Honeycutt, Executive Assistant.

Tech Parks Arizona is part of Tech Launch Arizona, an office of integrated teams creating an ecosystem of invention and commercialization throughout Arizona and beyond. TLA generates social and economic impact through bringing the inventions of the University of Arizona from the lab to the marketplace.
