The legacy of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was honored on January 18, 2016, with the naming of the street M L KING JR Way at the UA Tech Park at The Bridges. The street dedication was part of the annual MLK March and was attended by more than 400 neighborhood leaders, elected representatives, university administrators and community members. The initiative to name a street in honor of Dr. King was led by the Tucson Chapter of the NAACP with the assistance of Tech Parks Arizona, Pima County and the City of Tucson. M L King Jr. Way will serve as the site for the Heritage Path, a linear park that will celebrate the cultural history of Tucson and Pima County.
