MARCH 2022

Tech Parks Arizona Celebrates Women's History Month

March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and honor women and their achievements. Each March we take this opportunity to strengthen our community by raising up Women of the UA Tech Park and spotlighting their extraordinary achievements. This year we decided to do something a bit different. We took the opportunity to check in with our past honorees and asked them how they have navigated life amid the pandemic. Their responses were impactful. Take a look and be inspired by the Women of the Tech Park all over again.

UACI at Biosphere 2

Please join us for the grand opening of the newest UA Center for Innovation location! UACI is launching a new business incubator outpost at Biosphere 2 to support renewable energy tech startups. University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins will lead the grand opening ceremony on April 12 when we officially welcome startups into the new space. These startups are working through a structured 27-point roadmap that takes them through a continuum of education provided by mentors, advisors, and community collaborators. Entrepreneurs will utilize Biosphere 2 to test and demonstrate their technology in specifically controlled environments.

Carol Stewart Featured in Right Wrong Turn

Desert Leaf, a local publication, features a monthly column called Right Wrong Turn. This piece spotlights professionals who have ties to Southern Arizona and are leaders in their field and asks them to share a time they experienced failure, and how it ultimately resulted in a positive consequence leading them to where they are today. Tech Parks Arizona’s Associate Vice President, Carol Stewart talks about some of the challenges she faced and how it didn’t deter her path to success.

South by Southwest

The University of Arizona made its debut at the South by Southwest conference and Tech Parks and UACI engaged with the activities in Austin, Texas! We were thrilled to be a part of the Wonder House and Entrepreneur Lounge and were surrounded by innovative changemakers. UArizona brought the sights, sounds, colors, and smarts of the Sonoran Desert to South by Southwest! Check out the website for recaps and full talks and keep an eye out for next year's plans.
