The Arizona Center for Innovation (AzCI) assists new technology companies heading into the market with a variety of resources to help them start smarter and obtain the next level of success. Over the last 13 years, AzCI has supported over 100 ventures which have received over $30 million in funding. AzCI is a business incubator and innovation center that fosters startups and emerging technology companies in the development of their ideas, discoveries and next evolution of product through customized programs. Along with providing world-class office space, as well as wet and dry lab space for product development, the program sets companies on the pathway to attract grant funding, investments, employees and enables companies to establish new products in the marketplace.

UA Licenses Award-winning Scholarship Matching Software to Phoenix Company
In 2009, the UA undertook the creation of an online service to help match students with scholarships. Today, that web-based technology - called Scholarship Universe - has been licensed to Phoenix company CampusLogic.

Startup Featured in the National News
AzCI graduate company, Drone Control Systems, was recently featured on Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland. They discussed their business which is developing a software that allows counties to safely monitor UAV drone flight operations.

UA Tech Park Surrounding Neighborhood Meeting
Community leaders and area homeowners met at the UA Tech Park July 21 for a bi-annual UA Tech Park at Rita Road update. Cleveland Electric Laboratories, Diamond Ventures and Tucson Police Department provided updates on activities in the community. Tech Parks Arizona gave a progress update on annexation with the City of Tucson, future development plans and timelines.

Park Tours and Visits
Career and technical education teachers recently came from all over Arizona to visit the UA Tech Park as part of an annual conference organized by the Association for Career and Technical Education of Arizona. They learned about the UA Tech Park, the Solar Zone and new building technologies. Siemens Building Technologies Division also provided valuable information regarding building automation and management systems. The teachers gained insight into the skills necessary for young people entering the workforce.

Tech Parks Staff Profile
Ceci Kimball, a senior at Vail Academy and High School, worked as a student assistant during the month of June for Tech Parks Arizona. Our staff met her through our BESST (Building Experiential Skilled Student Talent) workshop in March of this year. She wowed us and joined the office for a month working on the Community Engagement database.
