UACI Sponsored Launch with Perkins Coie

The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) is collaborating with Perkins Coie LLP to sponsor a year at the incubator for one startup team committed to solving a significant business or social challenge. In addition to a sponsored year of incubator membership, the winning team will also receive $4,000 and 10 free hours of legal assistance with Perkins Coie LLP. Application submissions opened on May 4, and close on May 31, 2020. Don't delay, apply today!

 

Local Startup Makes World Impact

NOAH Malta, a subsidiary of NOAH Arizona LLC, a company founded on technology from the University of Arizona and incubated by the University of Arizona Center for Innovation, has been awarded a groundbreaking contract by the European Union. The contract engages NOAH Malta to study the feasibility of implementing NOAH’s patented water management decision support system. Malta, the most densely populated European nation could benefit greatly from this optimal water management.

 

Innovative Invention Being Used to Examine COVID-19 

KOLD highlighted UACI startup Emagine Solutions Technology whose co-founder, Courtney Williams. The company invented VistaScan which transforms mobile devices into portable ultrasound devices that are currently being used now to examine the lungs of COVID-19 patients at Banner University Medical Center. 

 

UNMET Arizona  

The UNMET Arizona 2020 virtual conference, co-hosted by Arizona Commerce Authority and Stout Street Capital, is set to attract more than 150 investors from around the country and takes place May 12-14. We are thrilled to have the following current and graduated UACI startups in this conference: Emagine Technology Solutions, Reglagene, Nanopec and Codelucida. Company founders will present to investors using Thumbraise to host video pitches that are like Instagram stories to give brief pitches of their companies.

 

Program Manager, Casey Carrillo 

Casey Carrillo is the Program Manager for the University of Arizona Center for Innovation. Casey is responsible for managing the incubator’s regional cohort-based programming throughout Southern Arizona. An Arizona native, Casey graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s of Arts degree in Higher Education.

UACI has teamed up with leading scientist Matt Lingard, Arizona Corn Product Development Center Lead, Bayer Crop Science to share his extensive experiences gained from many years of personal history and over 20 years of industry perspective and discuss how they can be applied to groups attempting to scale their testing footprint in response to the current need for increased COVID-19 testing. Join us for this Zoom discussion on May, 11 2020 at 1 PM.
