UA-ARC Moves into The Refinery

Tech Parks Arizona is excited to welcome The University of Arizona Applied Research Corporation (UA-ARC) to The Refinery located in the UA Tech Park at The Bridges. Team members from both UA-ARC and Tech Parks Arizona celebrated the official move in with a toast to the second tenant of the building. UA-ARC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit affiliated organization of the University of Arizona established to leverage UArizona's longstanding research strengths and public land-grant university mission. The new space provides UA-ARC with the opportunity to expand their activities and extend UArizona's focus on translating research and discovery into impact through private-public partnerships serving the state of Arizona, the nation and the world. UA-ARC's mission is the deliver superior technical, analytic and innovative products, services and solutions to national security challenges from government and industry, expanding the brand and impact of the University of Arizona.

The Refinery is a collaboration between The Boyer Company and Tech Parks Arizona, providing purpose-built environments where both university and industry organizations reside. This platform provides the perfect opportunity for connection and introduction for businesses looking to collaborate with the University of Arizona.



 

Eurofins Lab

Eurofins Scientific, a leading international group of laboratories providing a unique range of analytical testing services, is making great progress building out Eurofins CellTx at the UA Tech Park off Rita Road. This laboratory will meet the unique testing and processing needs of the transplant community. The new Eurofins' U.S. based lab will be comprised of approximately 15,000 square feet of laboratories and administrative offices and is scheduled to be completed by Q2 2022.

 
 

Tech Parks Arizona Leader Promoted to Vice President

Tech Parks Arizona leader Carol Stewart has been promoted to Vice President at the University of Arizona. Stewart leads the UA Tech Park at Rita Road with her talented team of professionals that collectively have over 165 years of tech park experience and is developing the UA Tech Park at The Bridges. She also serves as president of the University of Arizona Center for Innovation. Congratulations, Carol!

 
 

Karla Morales Appointed to the Board of Directors

Karla Morales, Vice President of Arizona Technology Council of the Southern Arizona Regional Office, has been appointed to serve on the board of directors which over sees Tech Parks Arizona. Morales is a well-connected business leader, recently recognized as one of the top 50 Most Influential Women in Arizona, and brings her exceptional national and international network to Tech Parks in advancing the economic prosperity of the region. Welcome to the board, Karla!

 

Tucson, AZ is the Optics Valley

In partnership with BizTucson, KVOA News 4 Tucson highlights "11 Reasons the World is Watching Tucson", one reason being Tucson's title as Optics Valley. KVOA reporter Robbie Reynolds visited the Tech Park to interview Nasser Peyghambarian, CEO of NP Photonics, and Greg Quarels, CEO of Applied Energetics, for an inside look at the research and next-gen products produced with optics to report on why Tucson is called the Optics Valley.

 

UACI Wins Soft-Landings Location Award

During the International Conference on Business Incubation hosted by the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA), The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) was named the Soft-Landings Designee of the Year for the smooth entry they provide businesses exploring entry into the United States. UACI has a proven track record in serving international startups, providing high-level and multi-faceted accommodations to ensure international companies experience a supportive foundation. Congratulations UACI!

 

Longan Vision Establishes U.S. Operations

Canadian-based startup, Longan Vision, recently established a U.S. Office at the UA Tech Park in Tucson, Arizona to launch their product. Longan Vision designs and builds advanced augmented reality technology for first responders to help save lives faster. Within two weeks in UACI's Global Advantage Soft Landing program, Andrew Leaman, Manager of Commercial Operations for Longan Vision, received mentorship and customized venture development support, connecting with like-minded startups in the community and fostering valuable discussions with local government officials and community leaders about the potential customers within the region.

 

Bobcat Family at Home at The UA Tech Park

This month brought sightings of a new bobcat family who has chosen to make the UA Tech Park their home. A momma and her three cubs have been seen roaming the campus and the papa has been spotted bringing dinner back to the family. A big thank you to our tenants that have been sharing pictures. If you happen to spot them and get a picture, make sure to send it our way to be featured on social media.

 

"A Walk in the Park" August TREND Report

Tech Parks Arizona was featured in the most recent TREND Report. An article written by Tech Parks' Director of Communications, Jessa B. Jacqueline Siliezar

Meet Jacqueline Siliezar from Tech Parks Arizona. She recently joined the team and assists with managing accounting transactions including coding invoices, completing bank reconciliations and producing income statements. She also assists with external audits and yearly budgeting. Jacqueline brings her knowledge and strong work ethic to the accounting team. Welcome to the team, Jacqueline!
