The Federal funding programs Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), provide over $2.6 billion each year for R&D to qualified small businesses. The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) provides grant funding and other resources to small and innovative companies in Arizona to assist in commercialization.

The University of Arizona has several programs to fund and support bringing research into the market.
