Tech Parks Arizona and the University of Arizona community celebrated significant achievements at the recent Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards, hosted by the Arizona Technology Council and Arizona Commerce Authority. Tech Parks Arizona was honored with the Ed Denison Business Leader of the Year award, a prestigious recognition that aligns with the 30-year legacy of driving innovation and impact throughout Arizona.
Special congratulations go to iCRx Inc., a tenant at UA Tech Park, for being awarded Innovator of the Year – Startup. Developed from University of Arizona technology within the College of Optical Sciences and College of Medicine and launched with the support of Tech Launch Arizona, iCRx Inc. exemplifies the transformative potential of university-driven innovation.
The University of Arizona Valley Fever Center for Excellence was also recognized with the Innovator of the Year – Academia award. Led by BIO5 member Dr. John Galgiani, the Center has achieved a significant milestone in developing a human vaccine for Valley Fever, bringing new hope for improved health outcomes.
These recognitions underscore the strength and reach of the University of Arizona’s innovation ecosystem, marking an impactful anniversary year and many more successes to come.

Vail School District selected Tech Parks Arizona as the site to expand and develop a new school, establishing Vail Academy and High School at UA Tech Park at Rita Road, resulting in a state-of-the-art educational facility.
In 2011, the district expanded and developed the campus, creating a dynamic environment where education and innovation could thrive together, offering students unique opportunities to engage with the tech-driven ecosystem of the Park.
