Kim Alegria- Coherent DILAS

Kim Alegria is an Optical Engineer at Coherent DILAS. Her daily responsibilities consist of aligning high power IR laser diode modules, designing and modeling optical designs for custom products and concepts, and working closely with customers and colleagues to find the best solutions to custom requests whether it be in medical, pumping, industrial, semiconductor or defense applications. Kim has worked at Coherent DILAS for more than 8+ years. She enjoys working on customized solutions to serve customers demands and the knowledge she gains from such projects that can be applied to future product successes. Kim completed her B.S. in Optical Sciences and Engineering from The University of Arizona in 2006. Immediately after graduating she started working at a biotechnology company where she built particle detectors that screened for microbial particulates using an ultraviolet source for use inside pharmaceutical laboratories. Outside of work, Kim spends time with her 6 year old son, playing soccer, or at the gym lifting weights, kickboxing or boxing. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending concerts, fishing and dabbling in photography.
