Tech Parks Arizona creates interactive ground, which generates, attracts and supports technology companies and talent in alignment with the goals of the University of Arizona.

Tech Parks Arizona and Tech Launch Arizona collaborated with BizTucson to plan and produce a special report, which just published as the centerpiece in the magazine's summer 2017 issue. The 40-page insert focuses on the growth and success of the University of Arizona/Tucson innovation ecosystem, and the work that we have been doing to bridge the research and industry communities as well as advance technology commercialization.

Codelucida wins Spring 2017 Arizona Innovation Challenge

The Spring 2017 round of the Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC) has concluded as the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) announced six awardees in its bi-annual business plan competition. Codelucida won $250,000 in capital to grow their business. Codelucida worked with Tech Launch to license their technology and recently graduated from the business incubator program through the Arizona Center for Innovation

UA Solar Zone enters second phase

Phase II of the Solar Zone at the UA Tech Park celebrated its initiation on Wednesday, May 31. This phase includes research and development focused on energy storage, grid optimization and micro grids. The first project, an innovative energy storage system, of Phase Two was recently dedicated. E.ON Climate & Renewables developed a leading edge solar energy storage project to provide grid reliability to Tucson Electric Power (TEP); E.ON has developed a 10-MW storage facility and accompanying 2-MW solar array on contract for TEP.

Greater Tucson Leadership

Anita Bell, senior manager for the Arizona Center for Innovation, is one of the newest Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL) graduates. She successfully completed a year long program with Tucson leaders from across industries and backgrounds. Tech Parks Arizona has been a long supporter of the program. Other graduates on staff include Jessa Turner (class of 2013) and Bruce Wright (class of 1987).

Economic Development Award

Bruce Wright has been named winner of the Arizona Association for Economic Development's (AAED) Economic Development Distinguished by Excellence (EDDE) Best of Arizona Award. The prestigious award honors individuals that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the organization and also to the economic growth within the state of Arizona.
