Tech Parks Arizona creates interactive ground, which generates, attracts and supports technology companies and talent in alignment with the goals of the University of Arizona.

Tech Parks Arizona introduced its first cohort of Global Advantage companies to Southern Arizona during a February 2 event at the UA Tech Park. Global Advantage is a strategic business development program designed to attract fast growth technology companies to the Arizona-Sonora Region. The Global Advantage Program provides companies a broad array of business development services through its soft landing program. Tech Parks Arizona is assisted in its efforts by Global Advantage Partners, LLC, a consortium of Arizona and Sonora companies offering unique business development services.  In addition to announcing the companies, Tech Parks Arizona and the Global Advantage Partners dedicated their new office suite in Building 9070 at the UA Tech Park.

Successful First Year Paves the Way for Next Round of NSF I-Corp

One year ago, through Tech Launch Arizona, the University of Arizona became an NSF I-Corps site. In the programs first year 30 teams of inventors and scientists hit the ground running towards discovering how their inventions could create social and economic impact. I-Corps is open to entreprenuers working with the Arizona Center for Innovation. Reception for Ascensus 

Tech Parks Arizona hosted a community reception to welcome the corporate leadership of Ascensus, UA Tech Parks newest tenant. The financial services company is moving to Tucson because of the citys employee base. Ascensus is hiring about 170 people in the next few months.

Progress Check

Tech Parks Arizona, along with industry mentors from Global Solar and P3Solar visited Phoenix and Tucson on February 3 to check the progress of 11 high school teams participating in Racing the Sun. Racing the Sun is a statewide competition where high school students design, build and race solar-powered go-karts.

Hannah Harvey is a senior at Andrada Polytechnic High School and is currently interning at Tech Parks Arizona with the Tech Cat program. She plans on attending the University of Arizonas Eller College to pursue a Bachelors in Business Management. In her free time, she works on cars and hopes to become a service writer to help pay for college.
