Elizabeth "Betsy" Cantwell Named 17th Utah State University President

The Tech Parks Arizona team is thrilled to celebrate Elizabeth "Betsy" Cantwell! She was selected to be the new president of Utah State University. Cantwell is the current senior vice president for research & innovation at the University of Arizona and has been a true champion of Tech Parks Arizona and the UA Center for Innovation since the day she arrived in Tucson four years ago. We are proud of all that has been accomplished to advance technology and bring new innovations to market!

International AZ Commerce Authority Reps Tour Campus

Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) international partners learned the business benefits of the UA Tech Park through a walking tour of campus. The Tech Parks Arizona team enjoyed meeting ACA officers from Taiwan, Korea and Europe to discuss areas of collaboration and how we can expand economic development through the benefits of a well-established university tech park and business incubator programs.

 

Electric Mine 2023

Tech Parks Arizona leadership joined mining industry pioneers at The Electric Mine 2023 conference. The three-day summit with over 700 attendees, offered a platform for mining companies, OEMs, service providers and research institutes to exchange ideas on best practice within the fast-changing sector of mining including future safety and sustainability practices as well as renewable energy infrastructure and storage.

 

UArizona Ranks Among Top 0.5% of Global Universities

A new ranking from the Center for World University Rankings places the University of Arizona very highly among universities worldwide. UArizona is ranked No. 95 overall, No. 48 among U.S. institutions and No. 25 among public colleges and universities in the annual rankings. The following indicators are used as criteria to rank the world’s universities: quality of education, employability, quality of faculty and research performance. UArizona’s overall score (82.1 out of 100) was bolstered by its global quality-of-faculty ranking (No. 73) and research performance ranking (No. 102).

Kamran "Kam" Rad

Meet Kam Rad, Program Manager at FitZona/Movement Company, the corporate fitness center onsite. He develops health & fitness programs and manages FitZona to meet the needs of the employees who call the UA Tech Park home. Kam was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Canada as a teenager, living there for the past 36 years until he recently moved to Tucson in January 2023!
